As work is ongoing on the second edition of "Mobile Phones and Tablets Repairs: A Complete Guide for Beginners and Professionals" to be released on the 2-year's anniversary of its release on May 9th, 2018, let's take a look again at
the preface below.
It was Napoleon Hill who said that, "Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes only power when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action, and directed to a definite end." [1]
In every economy in this 21st century, Tech Business would thrive and serve as the catalyst for growth in all sectors of national economies. Truer is this fact in economies that are experiencing a recession- especially a mono-product economy like ours in Nigeria and most third world countries. It is an economy for knowledge or skilled workers. For instance, people would rather patronize the services' sector to repair their faulty devices than to change to new ones, especially when the national economy is experiencing a downturn.
Man's basic needs have changed from what it was in other era of existence;
· Shelter
· Clothing
· Food/water
· Information & Communication (the new entrant)
Man today - even one who is unemployed - can hardly function without information/communication. If you are stranded to the lowest low, once you have life as a result of food/water, clothed - even if with just one garment under a shelter of any form, shape and size - getting out of your condition faster will require that you gain relevant information and the ability to communicate for help. And today, with the internet and the mobile phone, man is gradually evolving to that state where he can hardly do without his mobile handset!
Why am I saying this?
The best business is that one that meets one of man's most basic needs - it will always have a ‘demand' market.
Mobile Phones and Tablets Repair Services and Solution ICT subsector is a multi-billion dollar sector open to all that are interested. It is a veritable self reliance investment vehicle for arriving to any future career destination even if not a permanent career venture. This book is a response to the growing demand for comprehensive professional information that could assist young people all over the world who desire entry to the technical service industry in the mobile device category. The future is in the mobile phones, tablets and notebook devices computing segment, a departure from the dominance of desktop computers in the last two decades.
The book is organized in a way and format that teaches the reader who follows through, chapter by chapter as if he/she was attending a live training lab. At the end, the author's hope is that the reader will learn many key start-up and detailed Mobile Phone repair procedure information that can help to kick-start a small or large scale service center in any locality of choice.
The author of this book has consistently trained and empowered thousands of youths through partnership with Katsina State government, Nigeria at the Katsina Youth Craft Centre, Katsina - a multi-million dollar youth skill acquisition centre and some NGOs. The result has been phenomenal. If there is any such time when the youths should be encouraged to look beyond the usual "Go to school, get a certificate, find a paid job" cycle, it is now. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, Apple inc. founder Steve Jobs and many others who thought out innovative solutions to societal needs through information technology should serve as worthy examples to emulate.
Let me also end with the words of Napoleon Hill to that student, that graduate, that unemployed youth or adult who is interested in becoming a master of his destiny, and who has chosen to learn by opening the pages of this book;
"Knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application towards some worthy end. This is one reason college degrees are not valued more highly. They represent nothing but miscellaneous knowledge". [2]
